Biography

Glenn Snyders has been New Zealand’s leading breaststroker for the past 6 years.

Glenn started his International swimming career as part of the New Zealand 4×100m Medley Relay team where he secured bronze at the 2008 World Short Course Championships in Manchester. Glenn then qualified for his first individual events in 2008 for the World Short Course in Manchester and Olympic Games in Beijing.

At the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, Glenn won his first individual international medal, claiming silver in the 50m breaststroke. Most recently, Glenn wrote New Zealand history, becoming the first man in New Zealand to break the minute barrier for 100m breaststroke in a time of 59.94seconds at the 2011 FINA World Championships in Shanghai.

Snyders also holds all long and short course New Zealand records in breaststroke events and is currently training hard in a bid to qualify for his second Olympic Games.
